I’ve been laying low for the last couple of months, working on some original music and doing some recording (see my music tab for more on that) and now it’s time to get out and play some more. I’ve got a few exciting shows coming up in the next month:

Saturday, March 6th: Calamity Janes will play a short set during the International Women’s Day Fair at Memorial Hall in City Hall. 12:10-12:30. Then in the evening catch the Jenica Rayne quartet at Brandee’s for the 9th Annual Tim Mavety Tribute Fundraiser for Epilepsy Kingston. 5pm-6pm.

Friday, March 12th: Calamity Janes will play an early show at The Mansion followed by The Warped 45’s and guests at 10:30pm.

Hello loyal visitors!

I’ve been very busy over the last couple of months working on some original music for a band that I haven’t formed yet…it’s written for strings, piano and percussion and I will hopefully have a recording of it soon. In the meantime, you can see rough versions of it as it comes together on my Facebook Fan Page.

As for shows, nothing is confirmed yet for the new year but various shows are in the works such as Calamity Janes at The Mansion in March, a performance of my original music during Kingston’s International Women’s Week, St. Patrick’s Day in Kingston with Boru’s Harp and of course a very busy Kingston Symphony schedule. I’ll be sure to post these events as they are confirmed so please check back.

Mojo Shooter Band-Van Benefit

This Sunday, December 6th 2009, Danielle will be joining her favourite blues band, Mojo Shooter for a jam at The Mansion to help them raise funds to purchase a new vehicle. Their current truck is on its last legs and without transportation, these super talented guys can’t gig. Please come out and show your support! Danielle is one of many Kingston musicians joining the guys. Also playing are Emily Fennell, Tom Savage, Me Man Jack, Jack Troughton, Tracie Morgan Mac Maghnuis, LIQUORBOX and a whole bunch more. The show starts at 8pm and is only $5 at the door. Mojo Shooter will also be releasing a new EP that will be on sale for $10.

Catch Danielle on Saturday, September 5th 2009 with Boru’s Harp at Kingston’s Fare on the Square. This annual celebration of food will include booths set up by 12 Kingston restaurants and 2 cooking lessons given by Jamie Kennedy. Boru’s Harp will play from 10am-2pm.

On Friday, September 25th, Calamity Janes (Danielle, Jenica Rayne, Lynne Hanson, Les Casson) will play the RCHA (193 Ontario St.). The tunes start at 8pm and go ’til midnight. $3 at the door.

On Saturday, September 26th, Classic Albums Live presents the Who’s Next album at The Grand Theatre. Danielle will join the band for the famous violin solo at the end of Baba O’Riley. It should definitely prove to be a fun evening of great rock and roll.

Note: Presently I am not accepting any new private students, however I maintain a waiting list for students who are interested in future openings.

Limestone City Blues Festival

Danielle will be featured at the open blues jam with Mojo Shooter at the RCHA (193 Ontario St.) on Friday, August 28th 2009. Come enjoy the best jam in town with some of Kingston’s most talented musicians. Things get rolling at 9pm but get there early, the place fills up fast! $3 at the door.

Free lunch show on the lake

Boru’s Harp will play a free show from 12:30pm-1:30pm on Tuesday, June 30th 2009 at Kingston’s Confederation Basin (Ontario Street, just across from City Hall). We promise to make you dance!!

Saturday, June 27th 2009: Calamity Janes play a FREE one hour lunch time show at Confederation Basin. 12pm-1pm.

Later that same day come to Wolfe Island for Lobster Fest 2009 at Sacred Heart School. Boru’s Harp will be ripping up the Celtic tunes starting at 7:30pm. $40 will get you two lobsters, salad, rolls, a non-alcoholic drink and dessert.

July 1st: Come back to Confederation Basin for another lunch hour performance on Canada Day! Enjoy a free show by Calamity Janes from 12pm-1pm.
